Source dataset

Software names, descriptions, categories, licences, platforms and repository metrics are derived from awesome-selfhosted-data, a community-maintained catalogue of self-hosted software, used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported licence. The snapshot used for this build is commit 01e5bee, dated 2026-10-01.

In keeping with the ShareAlike term, the descriptive metadata reproduced on this site remains available under CC-BY-SA 3.0. Credit for that catalogue belongs to its contributors, not to us.

What we add

The health scores, percentile rankings, category orderings, comparisons and all written analysis on this site are ours. They are computed from the metrics above using the method published on the methodology page. Those derived works are not part of the upstream dataset and are not claimed by it.

Corrections

If a project's metadata is wrong — a broken link, a missing licence, an outdated description — the durable fix is upstream, where it benefits everyone using that dataset. Corrections merged there appear here automatically on the next weekly rebuild.

If our scoring misrepresents a project, that is on us: the methodology page documents the known limitations of the method, including the specific case of small, finished tools that need few commits.
