What CommaFeed actually does
CommaFeed is a self-hosted RSS feed reader styled after the classic Google Reader interface. It allows you to aggregate, organise, and read news and updates from multiple web feeds in a single web-based dashboard. The project is implemented in Java and distributed as a containerised application.
Best fit: It is a suitable option if you want a straightforward, self-hosted web reader to track web feeds without relying on a third-party hosted service.
Worth knowing: You should note that it relies on a specific Java stack and duplicates functionality found in many other open-source feed readers, so configuration may be familiar if you already manage similar services.
Deployment notes
Because it runs as a Docker container, you will typically need to configure persistent storage for your feed data and set up a reverse proxy to handle HTTPS termination.
